The 2020 PSE Regionals

Yesterday marked the first day of Pi Sigma Epsilon's 2020 Regional Conference. This year's conference is held entirely online through Zoom and pre-recorded sessions and speakers to follow guidelines and promote safety within the PSE community.

Our Gamma Nu chapter has several excited members participating in the 2020 conference including second year, Emily Frantz. Emily joined PSE in the fall of 2019 and has been very involved since, being on committees such as the Human Resources Committee, Website Team, and Public Relations Committee. She attended the 2019 Regionals held in Scranton, PA, where she had the chance to get to know more about PSE and have fun with her brothers. She commented that talking with other chapters in our region was one of the best parts of the experience. Moreover, she enjoyed participating in the marketing competition and it was a great practice of her teamwork abilities. So what is Emily looking forward to most this year? She comments,

"This year, I’m most excited to see how PSE nationals handles hosting regionals virtually! I think chapters across the country are all struggling to find ways to keep events engaging and keep members involved, so I’m interested to see what nationals does to succeed in these areas. I’m sure hosting the event virtually will have its pros and cons, but I look forward to learning a lot not only for myself, but for our chapter as well."

Emily cannot compete in events due to her work schedule, but she plans to attend many of the strong speakers and stay involved with PSE.

One of the speakers Emily got the chance to listen to last night was Matt Mattson, owner of Phired Up. Matt is just the beginning to what PSE has in store for the Regional Conference. During the five day long conference, participants will have a chance to attend several live speakers (as well as pre-recorded speakers), Q&A's, a career fair, and competitions. Several of our members competing in these competitions such as Lauren Taras and Gavin McIntyre who are excited to work with members from other chapters in the marketing competition. Lizzie Haack competed in the speaker's competition and is scheduled to perform her speech again tonight as a speaker's competition finalist. Other Gamma Nu members in attendance include Constantine Papas, Warren Klee, Matt Halas, Nick O'Verko, Annie Hanson, and Michael Montelone.
